Audition Craft with Ian Crawford

In-person auditions are coming back, and all of us can benefit from the chance to brush up on best practices and bring some life back into our dusty old monologues.

Ian Crawford is a Kansas City-based director and designer, and as the former Associate Artistic Director at Unicorn Theatre, he’s seen an audition or two!

Even the best actors can struggle with auditioning, which is unquestionably its own special skill. Ian will share his experience with how to prepare your strongest monologue and how to build your skills and comfort in the audition room. Participants will be given the opportunity to work on their monologues and be offered guidance on how to take their work to the next level. Bring a monologue you know inside and out and be ready to take notes on all the audition advice Ian has to offer.
