NEW THIS YEAR! Young Choreographer Showcase at Modern Night at the Gem 2024
We invite emerging choreographers to join us in City in Motion’s first ever Young Choreographer Showcase. Those who wish to be a part of YCS will attend a weekend workshop, learning and honing choreographic skills. They will then be able to submit a piece of their own choreography to be adjudicated, and up to three pieces will be chosen to premier as an opening to Modern Night 2024. Register for YCS here!
General Information:YCS 2024 is open to emerging artists aged 13-17. Participants age is determined as of January 2024.YCS will accept submissions of solo choreography, choreographed and performed by the same individualIn order to submit a piece for adjudication, you must join us in the YCS workshop.Choreographers may use any music they choose, however it must be family friendly and only contain appropriate lyrics (or be instrumental).

Workshop Information:Workshop is on January 6th from 9:00 am to 4:30 pmThe day will include a contemporary class, 3 choreography workshops, and a Q&A.January 7th is an optional date where students can show any choreography they may have done for their solos and gain feedback. There will be an extra fee of $25 for participation on this day.
