Summit Art is a juried membership, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to providing exhibition opportunities, professional development and mentoring within Lee’s Summit and the surrounding communities and engaging the public through the support and creation of art.
Our vision is to create an environment for visual artists in which they can exhibit, sell, learn, interact with peers, build inner confidence and add value to business and community. Our values are to respect, value and encourage an appreciation for art in an ethical and courteous manner.
Summit Art is dedicated to providing our members opportunities to exhibit their artwork, interact with peers, and develop professionally. We are also committed to engaging the general public through exhibitions, scholarships and art class offerings.
GOT Art Gallery, Home of Summit Art, is located in the historic downtown district of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. The gallery strives to provide area artists a place to showcase their artwork. This opportunity is available equally to all artists, member and non-member alike. The gallery offers monthly exhibitions, art workshops, and art classes (adult and children’s) to the public.
In addition to the gallery, Summit Art hosts and manages the Summit Art Festival (previously known as the Longview Art & World Music Festival). This growing event takes place in historic downtown Lee’s Summit and includes over 90 artists from across the country.
Summit Art maintains a membership of over 100 artists. Artists must be juried in to become Summit Art members, with new members juried in quarterly.
All Summit Art sponsored events and activities take place solely through the volunteer efforts of our artist membership. Sharing time and talent is crucial to the functioning of our group and expected from all members.
